Education & Training

Educating and training a new generation will ensure a steady growth in building in and around Gainesville, fortifying all of our members’ companies that rely on the construction industry to stay healthy.

BANCF’s Apprenticeship Program exists to train well-rounded, qualified employees. For a low tuition, you can give your employees the opportunity attend class at Santa Fe College (SFC) two nights a week while receiving required on-the-job training while working for you. These employees are better trained, higher skilled, more safety-minded, and are more likely to stay with an employer who is willing to invest the time and money in their future. The Apprenticeship Program is available only to contractors who are BANCF members.

If your son or daughter has an interest in the construction industry, there is now a high school dual enrollment program, through a partnership between BANCF, Santa Fe College and the School Board of Alachua County. Attending classes in a community college setting with other like-minded students can not only improve a teenager’s chances at a rewarding future but can give them an edge in their level of maturity by focusing on being an adult equipped with valuable, portable skills; or if a student chooses, to seek a two-year degree at SFC or a four-year degree at the University of Florida in Building Construction.

If you know of a student who is interested in pursuing a career in construction, BANCF sponsors annual scholarships totaling over $100,000. Criteria for scholarships vary according the specific scholarship available. Click here for information on scholarships.
